Public Health has debunked myths about not sending unvaccinated children to school during nasal flu vaccine season.
The organisation says some believe they should keep their unimmunised child home to stop them catching the flu from vaccinated kids.
It explains this isn’t necessary, with the only exception being the small number of children who are extremely immunocompromised - such as those who’ve had bone marrow transplants.
It adds these students are usually advised not to attend anyway, because of the risk of being in contact with other infections spread around schools.
