 
                            The public has been asked to pay attention to weather announcements today as the snow hits the Island.
Although the forecast is slightly better than anticipated there will be a few centimeters of snow falling on low levels from this afternoon.
Emergency services will be putting out information via their Facebook and Twitter feeds and people have been asked to check these, especially before making a journey.
