The company behind a new wind farm development in Jurby has backtracked on its plans.
Prowind UK Ltd. says it’s no longer progressing the idea – and hasn’t been since last week – because of aviation problems and the fact it would be visually intrusive.
Instead the company says it’s now looking at setting up a solar powered farm.
The plans for the wind powered development got initial support from the Council of Ministers – but came under fire from a number of MHKs.
MHKs now claim they’ve received an email from managing director Keith Brooks telling them unless they support the plans he will pull out of the Island altogether.
However Mr Brooks says he is leaving the Island with a positive attitude in the hope that a solution can be created to rescue the project and has thanked everyone who’s shown a positive interest.
