Prospect union urge caution over pension contribution hike

Higher member contributions to public sector pensions may be inevitable - but we must exercise caution.

That's the message from the Prospect trade union - which represents over 2,300 workers on Island.

It's working alongside government to find sustainable routes to stop 'encroachment' on the annual revenue budget - which is set to run out in five years.

The union is concerned that workers in the sector will be worst hit - pensions officer Neil Walsh says we need to deal with it practically and fairly:
