Douglas Council has closed Marine Gardens for the "foreseeable future".
The damage is now being assessed and the debris cleared after severe gales earlier this week.
On Tuesday Storm Barra battered the Manx coast with winds of up to 80 mph.
That, coupled with coastal overtopping, caused damage on Douglas Promenade.
In a recent statement, a council spokesman said the closure will be in place until repairs are complete.
