The governor of Jurby prison says it's important not to give up on prisoners, who'll eventually be released back into society.
Bob McColm was speaking after the publication of the Karran report which highlighted failings across the police, probation service, parole committee and prison.
The report looked into the case of Donovan Kitching, who killed Gwen Valentine in a car crash in 2014 just weeks after being released early - despite warnings he was highly likely to reoffend.
