Parents of young children can now apply for pre-school credit for the next school year.
The government scheme provides £3,420 to go towards costs for parents whose children reach their fourth birthday between September 1 and August 31 next year.
The initiative has also been expanded to include registered childminders, with DESC member, Lawrie Hooper MHK, saying it gives mums and dads greater flexibility with their choices of childcare.
Anyone wishing to apply for the scheme can do so via the government website.
