That's according to Douglas MHK David Ashford, who is urging Douglas Council to reconsider the new fortnightly waste collection scheme.
The policy was introduced in September alongside kerbside recycling collection.
Speaking to 3FM, Mr Ashford said forcing people to recycle in an effort to be greener is 'never going to have the desired effect.'
He added those who are recycling are just as angry about the policy:
