Police are drafting in extra resources this weekend to ensure there are no problems at the Castletown Carnival.
They say they will be targeting drunkenness, anti-social behaviour and any offences of violence.
The event, and particularly the Confetti Carnival tonight, attracts thousands of people from around the Island.
Last year a large number of young people were found intoxicated along with a minority of adults who were drunk and disorderly.
