Police are warning Island residents to be careful on dating sites - after being called out when people's dreams of romance turned sour.
Officers say they've had a number of reports which have led to concerns people are risking their own safety.
They say people are inviting their dates into their homes without doing any checks - and are urging people to think carefully about the issues involved if inviting strangers in.
In a Facebook post, however, they add "We are not the romance police!"
