The police are warning using Artificial Intelligence to make sexualised images of people is now a criminal offence.
Under the Sexual Offences and Obscene Publications Act which came into force last year, officers say it can carry a sentence of up to three years.
In a post on social media, police explain many young people don't realise creating or sharing some AI generated images could break the law.
They add what may seem like a trend or joke can quickly become something far more serious.
