Police are inviting residents to speak to them if they have concerns about speeding in their community.
Officers in the West were conducting checks on the main route between Peel and Douglas last weekend, saying whilst they would prefer to educate motorists on the issue, enforcement may be necessary if there is 'blatant disregard' for any restrictions.
Anyone caught flouting speed limits face a fine and penalty points on their licence.
Meanwhile, the constabulary adds if anyone has worries about speeding or other issues in their area to stop and speak to officers on patrol, visit your nearest police station or call 631 212.
Alternatively, people can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
