Police shed light on female assault picture posted online

Police have made contact with a woman featured in an online post regarding the recent spate of burglaries on the Island.

A picture posted on the 'Isle of Man BreakIns' page showed a local woman with facial injuries - it was alledged that she'd been assaulted with a knife during a break in at her flat.

Further investigations by the police have confirmed that she wasn't stabbed, and no knife was used, although officers say she did sustain injuries.

Police are reminding any victims of crime to report the matter to them as soon as possible.
