Police promise not to abandon town centre after move

Lord Street Police Station has closed its doors - but officers are reassuring the public they won't be abandoning the town centre.

Yesterday saw the Central Neighbourhood Policing Team transfer to Police Headquarters:

The Department of Home Affairs has stressed it will be "business as usual" - whilst reducing costs and allowing the building to be sold for redevelopment.

Inspector Cathryn Bradley believes it will allow officers to be more efficient and effective but says she understands why people have concerns:
