Police praise woman after three rapists jailed for 40 years

Police have praised the bravery of a woman who was subjected to a brutal sex attack by three men.

42 year old James Marcus Doherty, Graham Skillicorn who's 67, and Steven Cannon, aged 46, were jailed for a total of 40 years after being found guilty of rape.

They attacked the 18 year old in a Douglas flat in 2022 and were convicted after a retrial at Douglas Courthouse.

Detective Inspector Nicholas Haxby says the woman showed remarkable courage, significant strength as well as dignity and resilience throughout.
