Police have named the man who was found in a burning vehicle at the Point of Ayre last Tuesday.
Police believe the body found in the silver Mercedes was that of 58-year-old accountant David McLeman.
However they say due to the condition of the body clarification on the identity can only be done scientifically which will take more time.
Mr McLeman moved to the Island from Scotland in 1996 and was last seen in Ramsey on Tuesday, April 9th, at around 4pm. Police are still appealing for anyone who saw him on the day to make contact.
They’d also like to speak to anyone who was at the Point of Ayre between 7pm and 8pm.
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident and they are not looking for anyone else in relation to his death.
A family liaison officer is supporting the family at this time.
