Police name killed biker

The man who was killed in a traffic collision near the Fairy Bridge on Tuesday has been named by police.

He was 46-year-old John Barrie Sumner of Castletown.

He was killed at 6.15am after his motorbike collided with a Vauxhall car.

Mr Sumner, who was known to all as Barrie, was riding his motorbike to work in Douglas when the collision occurred.

Although witnesses have come forward to assist, the police would like to repeat their request for anyone who was driving in the area at that time on Tuesday morning.

A file for the Coroner of Inquests is being prepared by the Road Policing Unit.
