Police are warning those who have recently passed their driving test to take extra care as the winter approaches.
In a post on social media, officers appeal to parents of those who may be inexperienced driving in the dark, or adverse weather such as fog.
The constabulary is urging adults to assist new drivers when it's dark, or during poor weather conditions.
It says this will allow those inexperienced to drive in more difficult conditions with a safe and responsible adult.
