A Ramsey man has pleaded guilty to possessing over £4,000 worth of cannabis with the intent to supply.

62-year-old Graham Joughin admitted the charge at Douglas Courthouse last week.

The court heard how police attended his address in St Paul's Square at around 7.45pm on November 11th.

After a delay Joughin opened the door and officers noted a strong "pungent" smell of cannabis and could see green vegetable matter on the floor.

A subsequent search of the property resulted in two refuse sacks being discovered containing the drug which weighed over 780 grams.

He told police he was looking after it for a friend to stop it from going mouldy and said it was his intention to return it when they returned to the Island.

Joughin surrendered his bail and has been remanded at the Isle of Man Prison until his next court appearance on December 22nd.
