Police are hoping to install a new storage unit at Police Headquarters in Douglas.
The Department of Infrastructure has submitted a planning application for a new 20-foot shipping container.
Police say they need more storage space for an expanding fleet of vehicles.
If granted permission, the container would be put between the main headquarters building and Communications House.
