The government says it wants to park Bus Vannin vehicles overnight at three schools around the Island.
Planning applications have been submitted for minibuses to park in Castle Rushen High School on Arbory Road in Castletown, Sulby Primary School on Main Road and Bunscoill Rhumsaa on Lezayre Road in Ramsey.
The Department of Infrastructure says the schools would house between two and five vehicles each, which would be used for various transport purposes.
In its application, the department says its plans have already been given the green light by the Department of Education.
