There are plans to build nearly 70 new apartments on Peel Road in Douglas.
Island developer Dandara wants to construct 66 of them on the site of the vacant motor garage and adjoining land between the former Wool Control Centre and the No.41 property on the street.
In it's application, Dandara says apartment blocks on Lord Street are nearing the end of their lifespan and, if approved, the development could provide Douglas Borough Council with a place to relocate existing tenants.
The buildings on the site - which is owned by the developer - are currently unused and some of the space there is used for temporary parking.
