Plans to construct three new footbridges along an Island heritage trail have now been but forward to planning officials.
Government announced last year it plans to build new bridges at Glen Mooar, Glen Wyllin and across the Peel Road to reconnect former railway lines in the West of the Island.
The Department of Infrastructure says the new structures would be built to replicate the old ones which were removed in 1975.
Officials add the aim of the initiative is allowing the St Johns to Kirk Michael trail to be accessible to everyone including walkers, cyclists, horse riders and wheelchair users.
