Sulby reservoir could be getting a floating solar array, as Manx Utilities carries out a survey of the site.
The organisation's chair John Wannenburgh revealed the project this week in the House of Keys.
Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse asked about plans to generate electricity from solar panels.
Mr Wannenburgh said as well as putting panels at the National Sports Centre, the reservoir scheme was being carefully considered:
