A planning application has been submitted to build a new 44 bedroom hotel in Douglas.
Keith Lord of Hesketh Investments Limited, who owns and runs the Mannin Hotel, hopes to knock down the former Salvation Army Citadel building on Lord Street.
The newly built hotel would have a rooftop plant room, restaurant and small bar area, with en-suite double or twin rooms.
Mr Lord says the building would increase the Island's hotel accommodation capacity, particularly in peak-season, and have a positive impact on the economy.
