Two planning applications have been submitted to build new factories on the Isle of Man Food Park.
Four plots of land will be ready for development on the site in Peel in the next few months.
One of the companies submitting an application is CB Horne – it wants to build an 11,000 square foot factory which will create opportunities for Manx fishermen and jobs for Manx workers.
Government has already invested £3.1 million into the park and private sector investment is expected to match this.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says in order for the Island to compete successfully in the global food market there is a need for high quality production facilities.
