A person had to be treated for burns after a fire got out of control in Ballabeg yesterday.
Castletown and Port Erin crews were called to the scene at the rear of a property in Friary Park just before 10am.
When they arrived they discovered the occupant of the house had extinguished the flames, but had suffered a flash burn to the face and neck.
The fire was started in an attempt to burn household waste.
