Police have received reports of a scam on Island prompting further warnings from authorities.
In the last few days officers have heard of people trying to buy puppies from an Island address which uses a UK telephone number.
Those targeted have then found out the puppies don't exist and the money has then been taken.
As a result, the constabulary is advising to be careful if ever shopping online by making sure any sellers are genuine by checking their credentials, selling history and discussing any purchase with a friend.
