A pensioner from Douglas will stand trial after being accused of carrying out historical sexual offences against children.
82-year-old Joseph Henry Marshall, of Sartfell Road, appeared at Douglas Courthouse today.
He denied five offences of indecently assaulting male children – two other offences, of buggery and gross indecency, can only be tried at the Court of General Gaol Delivery.
The court heard all offences were allegedly carried out at the Knottfield Children’s Home in Douglas between February 1974 and May 1982.
Committal proceedings – where the case is elevated to higher court – will take place on December 18th; he’s been bailed until that date.
