Peel regeneration to continue as planned despite protest

That's the message from the Peel Regeneration Committee after protestors staged a protest a week ago. 

 

Some residents aren't convinced that the work being carried out - particularly around St Peter's Church - is reflecting the true identity of the town:

 

 

The committee says whilst it values people's right to protest, it's unfortunate that concerns were not expressed during the public and statutory consultation periods before work began.

 

It says improvements which are designed to enhance the Market Place gardens, such as new disabled access, have been thought out with accessibility in mind and for a variety of people to enjoy.
