A Peel man wielded a table knife after getting into a fight with a bottle-wielding opponent, a court's heard.
Matthew Lambah of Magher Breek appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 34 year old pleaded guilty to affray on June 21 - prosecutor Barry Swain said he'd gone to a woman's house after threats were made against his family.
There, he confronted the man he claimed was responsible and a fight ensued which saw the other man throw a bottle at him.
Lambah went to his car and took the round knife from a cutlery set before using it to menace the other man.
Mrs Hughes fined Lambah £800 and ordered him to pay £125 costs.
