A man’s denied carrying out an alleged benefits fraud which is said to have cost the taxpayer more than £11,000.
Geoffrey Penfold Dorrington of Kerroo Coar in Peel appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He denies one count of failing to declare work he’s said to have done and two of failing to inform benefits staff of a change in circumstances.
The court heard the 54 year old is said to have wrongly claimed £11,237 in jobseeker’s allowance by failing to declare work he’d done for a log company.
He was bailed in the sum of £500 and will next appear on January 27 for a pre-trial review hearing.
