A park in Douglas could soon be getting a peace plaque.
Douglas Council's Regeneration and Community committee discussed it at its last meeting, after a member of the public asked if a peace bell could be installed in Hutchinson Square.
But after worries the bell would disturb residents, councillors voted to apply to the Manx Lottery trust to get £750 for a peace plaque .
The plaque would bear the words of Article 1 of the United Nations Declarations of Human Rights, which says "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood".
