New Passports Will Be Introduced on Island in 2012
The introduction of a new generation passport in the UK will have no immediate impact on the Manx travelling public its been confirmed.
The new look passport will be put into circulation from October 5th of this year.
The new design ties in with yesterdays Identity and Passport Service day in the UK.
It’s key differences are the location of the security chip, and the placement of the passport holder’s photograph and personal details, a secondary image will now be printed on the observations page.
The Isle of Man will continue to issue the existing British passport until the end of 2012, at which point a Manx version of the new look passport will be available.
