The Department of Infrastructure is moving roadworks to the northern end of the coast road from 12pm today.
As part of the ongoing work to replace road studs, it says the section of road between the Hibernia and Dhoon Glen in Maughold will be closed to all traffic apart from bus services.
This section of the road will reopen to all traffic by 3pm.
The diversion route is accessible between Ramsey to Douglas will be via the A18 Mountain Road.
