Introducing parking charges on Douglas Promenade has been met with opposition from the public.
The Department of Infrastructure is opening up the seaward walkway whilst it carries out major redevelopment work on Loch Prom.
However motorists will be charged for the privilege - despite it being considered a disc zone on previous occasions.
The £1.3 million project to redevelop the area between Peveril Square and Regent Street is due to get underway imminently.
