Over £860,000 was lost to scams during 2023.
That’s according to the Cyber Security Centre’s annual report.
Over £400,000 of that was lost through telephone scams, with criminals using publicly available information to make their calls seem more legitimate.
Residents were targeted in October by scammers claiming to be from a bank’s ‘Isle of Man Fraud Team,’ with several calls leading to substantial financial loss.
