Over 3,500 people have signed a petition to keep the benches in the public shelter on Laxey Promenade.
Laxey Beach Café has provided tables, chairs and benches there for the last 15 years and has now been told to move them by Garff Commissioners.
In a statement released by the commissioners, it says at this stage they plan to use the space for lockers and showers for swimmers.
