Peter Karran Brands Some Fellow MHK\'s Comments on Civil Partnership Bill, Appalling
3FM have been speaking to Liberal Vannin Leader Peter Karran in light of comments made in the House of Keys recently on the issue of the Civil Partnership Bill.
Some felt that the bill, which would allow same-sex couples to make a formal legal commitment to each other, was just gay marriage under a different name.
Spearheaded by Economic Development Minister Alan Bell it received support of Mr Karran and also Hazel Hannan – others however were not so supportive.
The Onchan MHK said it's vital more MHK's get behind the bill to help the Island move with the times and get away from a history of intolerance.
