There are plans to create a new outdoor activity centre at a former Island quarry.
South Barrule quarry borders the popular nearby plantation which hosts well-established leisure businesses such as Ape Mann, Laser Mayhem and Segway.
Government now wants to find an individual or business which would be able to create and manage an activity facility there.
The site covers around 13 hectares, which is about the size of 18 football pitches, and includes a variety of terrain on the eastern slope of South Barrule hill.
Meanwhile, the plantation has already been identified for further development with 40 glamping pods and a visitor centre, which are subject to planning approval.
Environment, Food & Agriculture Minister, Geoffrey Boot MHK, says: "We are excited by the opportunity and look forward to see the ideas that come forward that will further enhance this popular location..
"At this stage we welcome all ideas that will enable for visitors to engage in physical activity whilst being immersed in nature."
Any proposals may need planning permission and officials advise any application must be sensitive to the environment the location is in.
Expressions of interest must be received by the 21 December and depending on the applications received an invitation to tender may follow.
