IOM Post Office will look for a 'service partner' which can assist postal services in Ballasalla.
The organisation says following public meetings on the matter and consultations it recognises there's a need for a face-to-face service in the town.
It would mean personnel would be on hand to help customers use touch screen facilities there for the likes of bill and rent payments along with regular stamp purchases and parcel postage.
However, benefit collections would have to be done at another branch, through a proxy or directly into a bank account.
The postal service adds it intends to formally seek expressions of interest to run these operations in the coming weeks.
