One person has suffered injuries after a vehicle on Douglas Promenade was struck by high waves today.
Police say the casualty was attended to by paramedics after a rescue carried out by the Islands fire service.
Officers are reminding people waves from coastal overtopping are dangerous and can carry debris which can cause damage and injury.
Due to the conditions, a section of the prom between the Sea Terminal and Castlemona Avenue is currently closed and people are being asked to avoid the area.
