One in eight people on the Island say they don't get sufficient heating, according to a government survey published this week.
The latest Social Attitudes Survey was carried out in August, and asked people how they felt about living on the Isle of Man.
But a section about things people are deprived of because of poverty showed 13 per cent went without heat, while 6.7 per cent didn't get a cooked meal each day.
The data also shows one in five people under 40 are finding it difficult to cope on their present income.
