Onchan commissioners say they'll press ahead with putting Manx names on road signs - despite a lack of advice from government.
At its last meeting, the board discussed plans to include Manx names on new signs in future.
Members heard the government planned to issue guidance on signs to standardise their appearance.
However, that hasn't yet been published - and the local authority voted to press ahead rather than wait for it to be produced.
