There will be disruption on Old Castletown Road in Douglas for around four weeks while work takes place.
One lane of traffic will close traffic lights adjacent to White Hoe Sewage Pumping Station will be put in place to manage traffic flow in and out of the Island capital.
Manx Utilities says this is essential work and is thanking the public for their patience and understanding.
The organisation added carrying out the works at this time before the refurbishment of the southern end of Douglas Promenade is hoped to keep disruption to a minimum.
