More than 1,000 people are involved in a clean-up operation in India after an incident involving a Manx-registered ship led to an oil spill.
The BW Maple, which usually carries liquefied petroleum gas, collided with another ship which was loaded with oil near Chennai.
The second vessel's hull was breached in the incident, which happened at around 4am local time on Saturday, and led to a large oil slick.
According to Kamarajar Port authorities the collision was likely caused by human error.
The Maple, which is 225 metres long, was built in 2007 and lists her home port as Douglas.
She's said to have suffered only minor damage during the crash which left an oil slick two nautical miles long.
More than 60 tonnes of oil has been spilled affecting local wildlife and the area's fishermen.
Nobody was injured during Saturday's collision.
