Public Urged to Not Give Out Personal Details Over the Phone
The Office of Fair Trading has issued a warning to the public to be wary of what information they give out over the telephone.
They have recently been alerted to a potential scam caller posing as someone who works for a claims recovery service.
In one case they were offering to recover money which the consumer had paid for an insurance policy.
The scammer will appear to know personal details about you but if this happens you are urged to hang up the call and notify the police.
