As the festive season fast approaches the Office of Fair Trading have issued some helpful guidelines for individuals to avoid overspending yourself into debt this Christmas time.
They’ve produced a 12 Ways of Christmas guide which offers consumers practical tips on how to make their money go further.
Its been identified that the average family will spend £600 solely on Christmas.
Most significantly the guide warns people against the dangers of taking out store cards to pay for items, cash purchases are advised above all else with the OFT’s research showing you spend a third more when reliant on cards.
