A public meeting will be held in Peel this week after plans were unveiled for a multimillion pound tourism development.
Developer Lanz has applied for permission to build a hotel, apartments. gym, restaurant and bar on a disused garage on East Quay.
But in a letter to residents, those behind the meeting say it would be a "massive, overbearing" building in a conservation area.
The meeting will take place from 7pm at the Sailor's Shelter on East Quay.
