An Island childcare provider has applied to transform an industrial unit in Braddan into an after-school club for young children.
Hopes and Dreams says it wants to use the building on the Eden Business Park to provide care for up to 60 children for two hours a day.
The company says it's looked at a number of sites around Douglas but can't find a permanent home for the facility.
And it says the building would be ideal for its Buzz Afterschool club which currently operates from Douglas Rugby Club.
Hopes and Dreams says the success of the rugby club means its building is no longer available, and new premises would safeguard six jobs.
It says it's considered moves to Ballacloan School, Ballafletcher House in Tromode, The Hailwood Centre in Douglas, as well as church halls and sports clubs - but ruled all of them out.
Children would be bussed to the new facility from the company's nursery on Woodbourne Road in Douglas and the centre would open from 3.30pm to 5.30pm each day during term time.
